Baraboo – Today Rep. Considine issued the following statement regarding the Supreme Court’s ruling on the Gill v. Whitford redistricting case:
“I am disappointed in the Supreme Court’s decision to pass the question of nonpartisan redistricting back to the lower courts. The partisan gerrymandering we have seen in Wisconsin is unhealthy for our democracy. Every citizen deserves the right to choose their elected officials based on who they feel will do the best job for them, not on who has the most money or which political party is in control. I hope my colleagues in both parties can agree on that much and move nonpartisan redistricting legislation forward in our state, regardless of the Supreme Court’s opinion.”
