Washington DC – Wisconsin Congressman Sean Duffy, Chairman of the Financial Services Subcommittee on Housing & Insurance, today released the following statement on President Trump signing the Trickett Wendler, Frank Mongiello, Jordan McLinn, and Matthew Bellina Right to Try Act of 2017 into law:
“Patients across America, like Wisconsinite Trickett Wendler, have suffered because potentially life-saving drugs are stuck in clinical trials, out of reach. A patient facing a life-threatening condition shouldn’t be denied a ‘right to try’ a potential treatment because of government red tape. I’m proud to have supported this live-saving legislation in the House and commend Representative Pat Snyder in the Wisconsin State Assembly, as well as Senator Ron Johnson for getting this legislation across the finish line.”
