“I am glad to see even more schools serving students in the 87th Assembly District receive School Safety Grants today,” said Rep. In previous rounds of grant awards, six other schools and school districts serving students in the 87th District have already received funding from the School Safety Grant Program. The $100 million School Safety Grant Program was created by 2017 Act 143 and is administered by the Office of School Safety at the Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ). According to the DOJ, $26.62 million in grants have been awarded so far. Additional grants are expected to be awarded in the future.
“The creation of this grant program was one of the biggest accomplishments of this legislative session,” said Rep. Edming. “I am thrilled that so many schools serving the 87th District have already received funding from this program, and I hope to see even more in upcoming rounds of grants.”
