MADISON – Representative James Edming (R-Glen Flora) congratulated the school districts serving students in the 87th Assembly District that received a TEACH Grant to help improve and increase technology infrastructure in their schools.
“During my time in office, improving access to the internet and technology for our rural communities has been a priority of mine,” said Rep. Edming. “It is wonderful to see so many school districts that serve students in the 87th Assembly District receiving a TEACH Grant to improve technology in their schools.”
The TEACH Grant Program is administered by the Department of Administration and helps provide funding to improve technology infrastructure in school districts with 16 or fewer students per mile. In this round of TEACH grants, a total of $7.8 million was awarded to school districts around the state including:
- School District of Athens – $27,547
- Birchwood School District – $27,000
- Bruce School District – $29,750
- Chetek-Weyerhauser Area School District: $42,720
- School District of Flambeau – $28,622
- Gilman School District – $30,000
- Hayward Community School District – $59,910
- School District of Ladysmith – $31,360
- Medford Area Public School District – $60,000
- School District of Rib Lake – $30,000
- Winter School District – $30,000
“From my many conversations with administrators, educators, parents, and students around the 87th District I know that these grants will have a big impact and allow these schools to provide a better education to their students,” said Rep. Edming.
