Contact: Rep. Gordon Hintz, 608-266-2254

MADISON – Assembly Democratic Leader Representative Gordon Hintz (D-Oshkosh) released the following statement on the decision by Representative Terese Berceau (D-Madison) to not seek re-election in the 77th Assembly District. Rep. Berceau has served in the State Assembly since 1999.

“I would like to thank Representative Berceau for her service to the Madison area and the state of Wisconsin. I have served with Terese since I was first elected in 2006 and always found her to be a true public servant. Her background in local government, love for her community, and sense of humor made her an important member of our Assembly Democratic Caucus.

“In addition to being a strong, progressive voice for her district, Terese has been a leading advocate for clean elections, UW System, and women’s health. I will miss her positive presence in the Capitol, but I wish her all the best in her future endeavors.”
