MADISON – Today, Assembly Democratic Leader Gordon Hintz (D-Oshkosh) released the following statement regarding Governor Walker’s announcement that the DOT received less funding than it had requested from the federal government for the Foxconn-related I-94 expansion project:
“Only Governor Walker could tout an $86 million shortfall as a victory. Governor Walker’s DOT is so dishonest with transportation funding it’s hard to tell what shell game they’re playing at any given time. Anyone who has driven on Wisconsin’s crumbling roads knows Governor Walker has created a long-term transportation funding crisis in our state. It’s clear the Governor doesn’t want to address this problem. The only person affiliated with this administration who was willing to tell the truth, former DOT Secretary Mark Gottlieb, stepped down less than a month after he told lawmakers Wisconsin’s roads would worsen under Walker’s plan.”
