MADISON, WI – Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Wisconsin presented State Representative André Jacque, R-De Pere, with a Building Wisconsin Award this week for his support of pro-construction initiatives during the 2017-18 legislative session.
The hard-hat award was presented at J. T. Schmidt Plumbing, Inc. in Combined Locks on Thursday.
During the 2017-18 legislative session, Jacque co-authored Senate Bill 3, Project Labor Agreement Neutrality, which prohibits all levels of Wisconsin government from entering into union-only project labor agreements on taxpayer-funded projects. He also supported Assembly Bill 508, or the “1-to-1 Ratio Bill,” which eliminated the Department of Workforce Development requirements for multiple journey workers to a single apprentice and brings Wisconsin in line with ratios in other states.
“ABC of Wisconsin members appreciate Representative Jacque’s efforts in pursuing policies that expand the number of family-sustaining, skilled construction jobs and promote pathways to help fill those positions,” said John Mielke, president of ABC of Wisconsin.
