Contact: Rep. John Jagler (608) 266-9650

Watertown: Following the federal criminal complaint in which women were allegedly trafficked and forced into prostitution in two Dodge county strip clubs, Representative Jagler (R-Watertown) is hosting a presentation by Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt and his investigative team on human trafficking.

“My office has received a lot of calls since this story broke and this is an opportunity for people to have their questions answered and to learn about what human trafficking looks like in our state. As much as we would love to believe that trafficking happens in big cities far away, the reality is that our law enforcement are investigating these crimes all around our state“ said Rep. Jagler.

Sheriff Schmidt will give a presentation on what human trafficking is and the forum will include time for the public to ask questions.

“The legislature has passed numerous laws to combat human trafficking the last several sessions,” Rep. Jagler said. “But it’s still something much of the public isn’t aware of. I’m hoping people will take some time to learn how they can help law enforcement put an end to it in our area.”

The presentation will take place Tuesday, May 8th from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM in the Watertown Municipal Building (located at: 106 Jones Street in Watertown).
