Will not seek Re-election after Two Terms of Fighting for Conservative Reforms & Pre-Born
Madison, WI – Today Rep. Jesse Kremer (R-Kewaskum) announced to his colleagues on the floor of the Assembly that after two terms and four years of pursuing and achieving conservative reforms he will not be seeking re-election. Rep. Kremer will be returning to the private sector to continue his primary career path as a pilot for a growing and well respected Wisconsin family supporting job creator. He thanked his colleagues in the legislature for their camaraderie and supporting his endeavors to overhaul government, end waste, and protect citizen’s constitutional rights, stating “The difference between a politician and a statesman is that a politician thinks about the next election while the statesman thinks about the next generation. I, for one, have strived to fall into the latter, a statesman, rather than the former, a politician.”
In examining his drive to make government more efficient and protect individual liberties with legislation such as his 1st Amendment Campus Free Speech Act, 4th Amendment Law Enforcement Body Camera Standards bill, and 10th Amendment EPA Overreach Federalism bills, Rep. Kremer quoted George Mason, a powerful force behind the Bill of Rights, stating “’Nothing so strongly impels a man to regard the interest of his constituents, as the certainty of returning to the general mass of the people, from whence he was taken, where he must participate in their burdens.’” He did express some regrets, however, in what he was not able to accomplish during his tenure: First, that he was not able to secure Wisconsin classrooms with a true security that will deter mass maniacs in our midst, and finally, with a heavy heart, he described an utter sense of helplessness and despair at not having had the ability to protect more of the members of our society with no voice – the pre-born.
Rep. Kremer also thanked his constituents for the faith they placed in him and expressed his hope that he represented them honorably and with integrity. Remembering the words of President Reagan, Kremer stated that “’Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same.’ After he addressed lawmakers on the floor of the Assembly chambers, the representative added that, “We must ensure the institution in which we serve, this beautiful state, and the greatest nation that this planet has ever seen will continue to be served by men and women who answer the call to preserve what we’ve worked so hard to protect.”
