RACINE, WI – Today, Representative Greta Neubauer (D-Racine) released the following statement regarding the Foxconn groundbreaking:

“This groundbreaking is an opportunity for Foxconn to commit, not just to Governor Walker, but to the people of Racine and Southeastern Wisconsin. Our community and the state of Wisconsin are investing heavily in Foxconn and today we ask them to respond in kind, by investing in our community.

“For 26 years, Racine has had the highest year-end unemployment rate in Wisconsin. While the Foxconn deal was not the one I wanted, we don’t have the luxury of letting this opportunity pass us by. We need commitments to local and diverse hiring, regional public transit, and strong environmental protection efforts from our new neighbor.

“We have the right and the responsibility to demand the best possible outcome for our community. I am committed to working with anyone who shares these objectives, and together we will continue fighting for Racine.”
