Wisconsin was watching, and we won’t forget.

MADISON – Today, Governor Walker signed the lame-duck bills legislative Republicans forced through the legislature in the early hours of December 5th, 2018. The bills enact sweeping changes to the balance of powers and the social safety net in Wisconsin, including an unprecedented effort to remove powers from the Governor and Attorney General’s offices. Representative Greta Neubauer (D-Racine) issued the following statement in response:

“Today, Scott Walker defined his lasting legacy in Wisconsin. By signing the lame-duck bills, Walker endorsed hyper-partisan and winner-takes-all politicking over bipartisanship and respect for Wisconsin voters. The people of Wisconsin chose a new direction in November, but Scott Walker would rather undermine our democracy than allow a fair election to deviate from his plans.

“The importance of a peaceful and respectful transition of power cannot be overstated. The people of Wisconsin deserve better than desperate attempts to cling to single-party control. Wisconsin was watching today, and we won’t forget,” Neubauer concluded.
