WASHINGTON, DC – The Congressional Progressive Caucus, the largest values-based caucus among Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives with over 75 members, will hold a press call on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 12:30 PM ET to release the CPC’s NAFTA recommendations as discussions continue between the three negotiating countries. With the Administration seeking to quickly complete a deal, the CPC is releasing proposed changes to NAFTA that are essential to improving the lives of working people.

The CPC demands a renegotiated NAFTA that respects the dignity and economic security of workers; protects the environment and preserves our natural resources for the next generation; gives families access to safe products and affordable medicines; ends the trade deal’s disproportionate damage on communities of color; eliminates handouts that promote corporate monopolies; and upholds U.S. sovereignty, instead of allowing multinational corporations to undermine our labor, environmental, and public health laws in secret tribunals.
