Madison, WI—Today, the Wisconsin Economic Development Association (WEDA) awarded Representative Mark Spreitzer (D-Beloit) with the 2018 “Champion of Economic Development” award at the Greater Beloit Chamber of Commerce. Only 20 lawmakers in Wisconsin were selected to receive the award this year. According to WEDA, recipients were chosen based on who best exemplified their mission of promoting economic development and showed a commitment to making Wisconsin a better place to live, work, and do business. Rep. Spreitzer made the following statement regarding the honor:

“From serving on committees like Workforce Development and Ways and Means, to co-sponsoring bills that aim to stimulate an economy that works for everyone, I have made it a priority to support initiatives and legislation that will help Wisconsin’s economy grow now and for years to come,” said State Representative Mark Spreitzer. “I appreciate WEDA’s recognition, and look forward to continuing my efforts to ensure fair economic growth throughout Wisconsin.”
