[Madison, WI]— Brad Schimel is fighting to keep Wisconsin safe – and Democrats are willing to say or do anything to stop his reelection. Yesterday, it was announced that one outside Democrat group ran an ad so demonstrably false that it was pulled from television stations. With Josh Kaul largely absent around Wisconsin, far-left groups are resorting to desperate tactics to prop up his campaign.

Schimel disputes claims in DAGA-backed ad

Republican Attorney General Brad Schimel is disputing a new ad that claims he was soft on child molesters.
DAGA Wisconsin People’s Lawyer Project, a group backed by the Democratic Attorneys General Association, launched a spot Tuesday claiming that when Schimel was a Waukesha County prosecutor he repeatedly cut plea deals with child molesters, blamed underage sexual assault victims for having bad judgment and offered a plea deal to a man caught with child pornography after the man’s attorney contributed to Schimel’s campaign.
Schimel’s campaign issued a statement Wednesday saying Schimel didn’t handle two of the five child molester cases the ad cites, he was describing how the underage victims felt and he never reduced the child pornography charge.
WISN-TV pulled the ad Thursday at Schimel’s attorney’s request. His campaign says four other stations have pulled the ad. Messages left at those stations seeking confirmation weren’t immediately returned.
