[Madison, WI] — Dan Kohl, the nephew of former longtime, do-nothing Democrat Senator Herb Kohl, recently launched an ad saying that he supports term limits. Then, when Kohl was pressed about his uncle’s time in Washington, he dodged the question and attacked his opponent. On top of that, D.C. Dan has already spent eight years in Washington as a lobbyist.

6th District Congressional Democratic candidate Dan Kohl recently argued for term limits, saying eight years in Congress is enough. Apparently lost on Kohl is the irony of his position, given that his uncle, retired Senator Herb Kohl, served 24 years in the U.S. Senate.
On “Upfront with Mike Gousha” Kohl told Gousha he believes in instituting term limits. He commented, “There are too many career politicians in Washington Mike, who put their party’s interest ahead of what needs to be done for their constituents. I think instituting term limits would be a step in the right direction to eliminate a lot of the dysfunction and make Washington work better.” When asked how long he would pledge to serve if elected, Kohl responded, “I think eight years is enough time to go to Washington make a difference for people and then come home.” While Kohl has expressed his belief in term limits his Uncle, retired Senator Herb Kohl, served 24 years in the U.S. Senate.
“What D.C. Dan Kohl isn’t telling voters is that he’s already spent 8 years in Washington as a lobbyist for liberal special interest groups, pushing a far-left agenda,” commented Republican Party of Wisconsin Communications Director Alec Zimmerman, “It’s absolute hypocrisy for anyone with the last name ‘Kohl’ to criticize politicians for spending too long in Washington, not getting anything done.”
Media Trackers reached out to Kohl’s campaign via emails and phone, asking for Kohl’s opinion of his Uncle’s long career, and if he thinks that his Uncle’s last 16 years in office were excessive or productive. Media Trackers has yet to receive any comment back from Kohl’s campaign.
