Evers Continues to Ignore Outstate Wisconsin by Filling appointments with Milwaukee and Madison Insiders
[Madison, WI]— Tony Evers promised to pursue a 72-county strategy yet the early indications all point towards a Milwaukee and Madison focused administration. Today, the governor-elect announced his first four cabinet positions, including Tourism and Natural Resources, are all from Milwaukee. This continues Evers’ and Democrats’ trend of selecting Madison and Milwaukee insiders. Just last week it was announced that 25/30 appointees of Evers’ economic development panel and every single Democrat member of the Joint Finance Committee will be from either Madison or Milwaukee.
“Today’s appointments are further proof that Wisconsin Democrats are the party of only Milwaukee and Madison,” said Republican Party of Wisconsin Executive Director Mark Morgan. “While Republicans in the legislature will continue to work for and represent the interests of the entire state, Democrats have proven yet again they’re beholden to the interests of Madison and Milwaukee.”
