We are proud to announce the support of Wisconsin Attorney General Brad Schimel as he has chosen to endorse Sheriff Dale Schmidt in his bid for Re-Election as Dodge County Sheriff. The Attorney General, while very selective on who he chooses to endorse, feels strongly that Sheriff Schmidt is doing great things for the Citizens of Dodge County. Attorney General Schimel provided the following statement to Sheriff Schmidt:
“Sheriff Dale Schmidt is a true leader in Dodge County. He has been an excellent partner in my “Dose of Reality” campaign in fight against opioid use and the prevention of prescription painkiller abuse in Wisconsin. He has worked hard to promote treatment options, educational opportunities, and increased drug enforcement in Dodge County.
Sheriff Schmidt is a strong school safety advocate endorsing many Dodge County Schools to receive state grant funding to improve security. He has promoted interagency cooperation to plan for response to and prevention of school disasters and is actively working to find funding to add a Dodge County Deputy as a School Resource Officer (SRO) in rural schools. He is committed to our children and their safety.
Finally, Sheriff Schmidt is the only true Republican running in this race. Not only is he a fiscal conservative, but also has strong conservative values with a deep respect for the constitution and its amendments.

The Sheriff is certainly humbled by this endorsement. Attorney General Schimel has joined 49 current Wisconsin Sheriffs, several police administrators, State Representative John Jagler and several current and former county board supervisors. Additional big Republican endorsements in this Republican primary are also rumored to be coming soon.
