(608) 266-8535

Madison – State Senator Tim Carpenter (D-Milwaukee) issued the following statement honoring Jerry Kramer for his induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame:

“Jerry Kramer has earned a place in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Playing for the Green Bay Packers from 1958 to 1968, he was a part of the iconic team under Vince Lombardi that went on to win the first two Super Bowls as well as the historic Ice Bowl.”

“He gained a reputation for being one of the best blockers in the game as one of the key players in the famous Packers Sweep. He has been a finalist for the Hall of Fame ten times without being voted in, and so I am very happy that he is finally getting this recognition. I can’t think of anyone more deserving!”
