Madison – Today, Senator Devin LeMahieu (R-Oostburg) was appointed Chair of the Senate Committee on Utilities and Housing for the 2019-’20 legislative session. In response, Senator LeMahieu released the following statement:

“I appreciate the opportunity to serve as Chair of the Senate Committee on Utilities and Housing.

“This is my second session chairing the Utilities Committee. Last session, the committee passed reforms that streamlined permitting, reduced red tape, and strengthened safety requirements. These changes benefited both energy consumers and providers.

“I am excited that the issue of Housing has been added to the purview of this committee. My goals for this portion of the committee include protecting private property rights and eliminating excessive regulations for homeowners.

“I look forward to keeping Wisconsin on the right track for the state’s homeowners and energy consumers.”
