Wiota, WI – State Senator Howard Marklein (R-Spring Green) today announced that he has been endorsed by five major agricultural organizations. The Volunteers for Agriculture / Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation, Dairy Business Association, Wisconsin Cattlemen’s Association, Wisconsin Pork Association and the Wisconsin Potato & Vegetable Growers Association declared their support early in the campaign cycle to demonstrate their strong support for his re-election to the state Senate to represent the 17th Senate District.

“I am truly humbled by the outpouring of support and encouragement that I have received from the agricultural community throughout the 17th Senate District and statewide,” Marklein said. “From the dairies, corn growers and pork producers in Lafayette County to the cranberry marshes in Juneau County to the potato fields in Sauk County to the beef producers in Grant and Iowa Counties, I have farmers cheering me on and supporting our campaign.”

“I have worked hard to be a voice for farmers. I understand their challenges and opportunities because I have walked miles in their shoes,” Marklein said. “I know that our farmers want (and need) clean water and air. I know they want (and need) flexibility to run their farms. I know that they want us to listen to their concerns and solutions – and support their local efforts to keep farming a robust industry in Wisconsin.”

“The endorsements I received this week demonstrate the strong, overwhelming support from agriculture for my re-election,” Marklein said. “I appreciate their early endorsements and will continue to connect with farmers and the ag community as I work to earn their votes.”

The endorsements were announced at a gathering of more than 100 farmers who support Sen. Marklein at the Berget Family Farms in Wiota on Tuesday, July 24, 2018.
