The State Senate adjourned until 2019. State Senator Janis Ringhand issued the following statement.
“What a waste of nearly 16 months of a legislative session. The Republicans only managed to call us into session for a mere 16 days in that time period to vote on bills. 16 days in 16 months. On those days, we primarily focused on corporate welfare and failed to address a long term solution to fix our roads, meet our educational needs or make healthcare more affordable.
Instead Republicans found an estimated $4.5 billion in state and local taxpayer dollars for Foxconn. We adjourned without even being able to pass reasonable measures that would make schools safer for our children.”
