One time campaign gimmick doled out before fall elections
MADISON – After years of Republican tax breaks for multi-millionaires and the largest taxpayer handout to foreign corporation in U.S history, Gov. Walker signed into law a one-time campaign gimmick. Senate Democratic Leader Jennifer Shilling (D-La Crosse) released the following statement.
“Gov. Walker’s costly campaign gimmick is another sad reminder of how much money Republican politicians have funneled to millionaires and billionaires over the last seven years. Instead of one-time campaign gimmicks and massive tax giveaways to the wealthy, we should be investing in long-term child care relief, expanding access to affordable health care and supporting strong community schools.
