Gov. Walker Signs Vukmir Bill to Save Wisconsinites’ Money for Prescription Medications

MADISON, Wis. — Gov. Scott Walker signed a bill Wednesday authored by Sen. Leah Vukmir, R–Brookfield, into law which, will give Wisconsinites savings on prescription drugs.

“Drug prices are an incredible burden on Wisconsin families, especially seniors, and this bill will help budgets of the middle class stretch further,” Vukmir said. “Wisconsinites pay an enormous cost for prescription medications, and I am proud to author a bill that brings them relief.”

Gov. Walker signed the bill into law Wednesday that allows pharmacists to substitute more expensive drugs with a cheaper interchangeable version.  These interchangeable biological drugs will provide more choices for consumers resulting in savings.

“I’ve always worked to make sure our families can keep more of their hard-earned dollars,” Vukmir said. “This is a win for all Wisconsinites spending their money on costly prescription drugs.”
