MADISON, Wis. — Authored by Sen. Leah Vukmir, R-Brookfield, the Senate passed legislation prohibiting Wisconsin from contracting with any company participating in the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanction movement against Israel.
“I am proud to have authored this bill standing with our friend and ally Israel,” Vukmir said. “The Boycott, Divestment, and Sanction movement is an anti-Semitic, anti-Israel campaign that promotes division.”
The legislation prohibits local municipalities from contracting with companies participating in a boycott of Israel and bans local municipalities from establishing their own rules and ordinances to boycott or divest from Israel.

“Wisconsin will not tolerate hateful initiatives aimed at harming our ally” Vukmir said. “This legislation further strengthens our bond with Israel, our strongest ally in the Middle East.”
