MILWAUKEE—Former Supreme Court Justice Louis Butler today endorsed Danielle Shelton for Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge in Branch 40 in the spring 2019 election. Shelton announced her campaign last month and currently works as an assistant state public defender.

“Danielle is a great lawyer and has the right experience and values to make a difference on the Milwaukee County bench,” said Justice Butler. “Milwaukee needs a diverse set of perspectives on the bench, and her background in the financial industry, as an Army veteran, as a single mother, as an excellent public defender and litigator, and as a seeker of justice, make her the perfect choice to be Milwaukee’s next judge. She’s earned my enthusiastic endorsement, and I intend to help her win this election.”

“I’m honored to have the support of Justice Butler, who has been a leader in the law and in our community for decades,” said Shelton. “He is an inspiration. I am talking to voters across Milwaukee about my experience, my values, my understanding of the law and my sense of justice, and I’m confident I can earn the support of Milwaukee County voters next spring.”
