American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees represent thousands of workers across Wisconsin
River Hills – Emily Siegrist, candidate for the Wisconsin State Assembly District 24, today issued the following statement:
“AFSCME is proud to support candidates who champion the rights of working people in the State of Wisconsin. We are supporting Emily Siegrist because she believes in ensuring safe work environments, creating livable wages for working people that supports a strong middle class and defending the dignity of public service workers from anti-worker attacks. Our members support candidates who will fight for them every day. That is why we have endorsed Emily Siegrist,” noted Annie Wacker, Committee Chairwoman of AFSCME PEOPLE committee.
“Working people across Wisconsin have taken it on the chin by the current administration. From Act 10, to right-to-work, to the ban on project labor agreements, working people in Wisconsin have been left behind. In the assembly, I will always stand with working people and their families. I’m honored to have the support of AFSCME in this election and look forward to working with them after November,” noted Emily following the endorsement.
Emily Siegrist teaches nursing at MSOE. She is also a mother, wife, and homeowner in River Hills. She served in the military and is committed to serving Wisconsin in the assembly. Emily is running against incumbent Dan Knodl to represent communities including Brown Deer, Germantown, Menomonee Falls, Glendale, River Hills and parts of Mequon-Thiensville. The election is on November 6th
