RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA – House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) and his bipartisan Congressional Delegation continued their visit to the Middle East today, traveling to Saudi Arabia. The focus of the delegation’s day was strengthening the U.S.-Saudi bilateral partnership following President Trump’s recent visit, as well as continuing discussions on a host of regional threats, including Iran’s existential threat to the stability of the region.
While at the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh, the delegation received in-depth briefings on a range of issues and met with the American Business Group of Riyadh.
The delegation then visited the Royal Court to meet with King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, and later toured the Global Center for Combatting Extremist Ideology.
“I’m pleased to be back in Saudi Arabia to discuss our important relationship and shared interest in defeating terrorism and rolling back Iranian aggression in the region,” said Speaker Ryan. “These meetings have been extremely productive, and I look forward to our continued partnership as we work on these critical issues.”
The delegation then traveled to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to meet with Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz.
