MADISON — The Madison chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists is hosting a happy hour event with leading climate writer and former New York Times reporter Justin Gillis on Monday, April 23.

Gillis is currently working on a book about solving global warming, and spent nearly a decade at The New York Times covering environmental science, with a special focus on climate change. He is now a contributing opinion writer for the newspaper.

All area journalists and journalism supporters are encouraged to attend the free event, which will be held at Genna’s, 105 W Main St. in Madison, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Gillis is in Madison as part of UW-Madison’s Science Writer in Residence program. He’ll also be the keynote speaker at the upcoming Center for Journalism Ethics‘ April 27 conference. More details are available here: https://ethics.journalism.wisc.edu/2018conference/
