MADISON – Today State Representative Evan Goyke (D-Milwaukee) was appointed by Minority Leader Gordon Hintz (D-Oshkosh) to the legislature’s powerful Joint Committee on Finance for the upcoming 2019-2020 legislative session.

“I am honored to serve next session as a member of the Joint Committee on Finance,” Rep. Goyke stated following his appointment. “I thank Minority Leader Hintz for his confidence and this opportunity to serve my constituents and the State of Wisconsin in this important role. Simply put – I’m ready to get to work.”

The Joint Committee on Finance is comprised of 16 legislators – 12 Republicans and 4 Democrats. Its duties include the review of all state appropriations and revenues, as well as the Governor’s biennial budget recommendations.

Rep. Goyke will be joined by Rep. Chris Taylor (D-Madison) from the Assembly Democratic caucus.

“Our state is at a critical point in its history. It is a great privilege to have a seat at the table as we begin discussions on the biennial budget that will determine our priorities moving forward. I look forward to bringing my own experience and expertise to ensure that everyone’s voice is heard when making important policy decisions.”
