Madison…The Wisconsin Policy Forum released a study finding that the tax burden of
Wisconsinites is now at the lowest level in 50 years. Chairman John Macco (R-
Ledgeview) of the Assembly Committee on Ways and Means released the following

“This did not happen by accident, the policies implemented in the past 8 years have
allowed businesses to grow and hardworking Wisconsinites to thrive. Unemployment is
the lowest in Wisconsin history, Wages are rising and the tax burden for Wisconsinites
has fallen to a five decade low!” continued Rep. Macco “Wisconsin is expanding into the
21 st century and beyond. Hard working taxpayers are seeing an increase in wages, local
governments are seeing revenues increase and the state government is running historic
budget surpluses while increasing funding for state programs. The environment of free
enterprise has made Wisconsin a national leader. Now is the time to implement policies
and continue moving Wisconsin Forward.”
