Madison–State Representative John Nygren (R-Marinette), Co-chair of the Joint Committee on Finance released the following statement after advocating for the Marinette Kimberly-Clark location at a public hearing:

“Today, the Joint Committee on Finance held a public hearing on Assembly Bill 963 which
provides a tax incentive package to keep Kimberly-Clark, and nearly 600 family supporting jobs in Wisconsin. I voted for this package on the floor of the Assembly and urge the Senate to do the same.”

“This legislation hits close to home as Kimberly-Clark has a facility in Marinette which supports nearly 250 family supporting jobs. I have friends and family that call this plant their place of work. It is important to note that this legislation also puts into place job retention requirements for the Marinette plant. These provisions will help ensure its long-term viability along with the plant in Neenah.”

“With that said, I will remain engaged and diligent to make sure northeastern Wisconsin
continues to be an attractive place to work, live, and raise a family. It is disappointing to see that both our incoming Governor, Governor-Elect Evers, and Senator Dave Hansen are not supportive of retaining these family supporting jobs for the hardworking people of Wisconsin. After listening to the compelling testimony today by employees of Kimberly-Clark I have to wonder when Democrats will put aside politics and put people first.”
