All Six First District County Sheriffs Endorse Bryan Steil
KENOSHA, Wis. – First Congressional District candidate Bryan Steil announced today the endorsement of all six county sheriffs, both Democrats and Republicans, from across Wisconsin’s First Congressional District.
Bryan Steil: “I am proud to have the backing of all six sheriffs, both Democrats and Republicans alike, in the First Congressional District. These brave leaders work tirelessly to keep our communities safe. In Congress, I will work with local law enforcement agencies to fight the opioid epidemic and ensure law enforcement agencies have the resources and training necessary to keep us safe.”
Kenosha County Sheriff David Beth (R): “I’m supporting Bryan Steil for Congress because Bryan will take on Washington politics and fight for our communities. Bryan also understands that we need to combat the opioid epidemic and the trade of other illegal drugs. Bryan is the best candidate in the race.”
Milwaukee County Sheriff Richard Schmidt (D): “There is a clear contrast between Bryan and his opponent. Bryan respects the law while his opponent has a troubling legal history. Bryan Steil is the best candidate to represent Milwaukee County in Congress because he listens to the needs of our communities and law enforcement. He understands that to keep communities safe, law enforcement officers need the right resources, training and equipment, and that’s why I’m supporting him.”
Racine County Sheriff Christopher Schmaling (R): “The fundamental role of government is to protect its people. Bryan also understands that one of the most important things to growing our communities and keeping them safe is economic opportunity. I’m proud to support Bryan Steil for Congress.”
Rock County Sheriff Robert Spoden (D): “The law enforcement community is behind Bryan Steil. Both Democrats and Republicans are united to elect Bryan because he is focused on keeping Southeast Wisconsin safe. In Congress, Bryan will work with the counties and municipalities to combat the opioid epidemic and make sure we have the tools we need to be effective.”
Walworth County Sheriff Kurt Picknell (R): “Bryan Steil will be a strong advocate for public safety in Walworth County and the entire Congressional District. Bryan will take a fiscally conservative approach to Congress and prioritize law enforcement concerns impacting community safety. Bryan is clearly law enforcement’s choice for Congress.”
Waukesha County Sheriff Eric Severson (R): “Bryan Steil will be a champion for law enforcement in Congress. He understands our needs and will fight to make sure we can do our jobs effectively every single day. I’m proud to support and endorse Bryan Steil for Congress.”
Bryan Steil won the Republican nomination for the First Congressional District on August 14 with over 51 percent of the vote in a five-way contest. Steil is running for Congress to fight for American workers and prepare our workforce for the jobs of the future. Steil is a member of the University of Wisconsin Board of Regents and has a strong background as a business leader. For the past nine years, Steil has worked for manufacturing companies in Rock County and has learned the importance of fiscal discipline and risks of government red tape. Steil was born and raised in Janesville, Wisconsin, where he currently lives. |
