Bloomer – Wisconsin State Representative Rob Summerfield announced his candidacy for re-election in the 67th Assembly District today.

“It has been an honor and privilege to serve residents of the 67th Assembly District for the last two years,” said Summerfield. “Since day one, it has been my top priority to fight for the values of the Chippewa Valley region. I’ve listened to and delivered results for my constituents who value strong schools, affordable healthcare, and investment in our communities. ”

Rep. Summerfield is a local small business owner in Bloomer; helping run and manage Two Acres Supper Club and Chippewa Valley Land Title, for over 13 years.

This session, Rep. Summerfield authored legislation to fix a technicality in state law and protect music festivals like Rock Fest, Country Fest, and Eaux Claires — a $40 million industry in the Chippewa Valley alone. He also introduced a bill to encourage the development and restoration of low-income housing statewide, and co-authored another to help counties combat child abuse and neglect.

“I was born and raised in Bloomer and still run my family business here. I know firsthand the challenges we face and what we can do in Madison to have a positive impact on our communities,” added Summerfield. “This session I fought for a record $636 million funding increase for K-12 education, passed legislation to help reduce health insurance premiums, kept property taxes low, and worked across the aisle to get the job done.”

Rep. Summerfield has served in the Wisconsin State Assembly since his election in 2016.

He currently resides in Bloomer with his wife Kim, and their three daughters.

The 67th Assembly District includes parts of Chippewa and Dunn Counties.
