AFSCME Council 32 endorses Liz Sumner for State Assembly
American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees represents thousands of working people across Wisconsin

FOX POINT – Liz Sumner, Democratic candidate for Wisconsin’s 23rd Assembly District, today issued the following statement:

“Wisconsin once had a proud tradition of not only respecting working people, but advocating for their rights in the workplace. For nearly eight years we have seen policies that serve only one purpose: to dismantle the labor movement and strangle working families. I’m honored to have earned the support of AFSCME because they know I am a progressive champion who will not only advocate for change, but also work tirelessly to create new, progressive public policies that will bring working people across the board back to the table,” said Sumner.

“AFSCME is proud to support candidates who champion the rights of working people in the State of Wisconsin. We are supporting Liz Sumner because she believes in ensuring safe work environments, creating livable wages for working people that supports a strong middle class and defending the dignity of public service workers from anti-worker attacks. Our members support candidates who will fight for them every day. That is why we have endorsed Liz Sumner,” said Debra Huntley of AFSCME.

Liz Sumner is a resident of Fox Point, a small business owner, a current member of the Fox Point Village Board, mother of two young children, and is the Democrat running to represent the 23rd Assembly District in the general election on Tuesday, November 6, 2018.
