(Washington, D.C.) – Congressman Glenn Grothman (R-Glenbeulah) joined The Weather Channel meteorologist Reynolds Wolf to stress the importance of severe weather preparedness in a newly created public service announcement (PSA). The locally targeted PSA, recorded in partnership with The Weather Channel television network, will air on the network in January and February during the heart of severe winter weather season.

“Even though we’re used to snow and severe winter weather in Wisconsin, we should never stop preparing for the unexpected,” said Grothman. “It’s vitally important to be prepared for all that the weather can throw at us in order to keep our families, our neighbors and ourselves safe. I was proud to work with a trusted name like The Weather Channel to help spread the message of severe weather preparedness.”

As we saw so dramatically in 2017, when severe weather is approaching, being prepared is important and can save lives,” said Dave Shull, CEO of The Weather Channel. “We are proud to have Rep. Grothman’s support in helping spread the important message of severe weather preparedness to his community. The Weather Channel works extensively to educate and prepare our viewers for severe weather events, and we’re thankful to work with Rep. Grothman on this important initiative.”

Over the past decade, storms causing a billion dollars or more in damage have escalated – substantially affecting many communities. At a time when weather emergencies are more frequent, The Weather Channel is the leading source for storm coverage, delivering comprehensive, accurate, science-based weather information with meteorological expertise. This is the 5th year that The Weather Channel is partnering with congressional members around severe weather preparedness PSAs.
