(Washington, D.C.) – Congressman Glenn Grothman (R-Glenbeulah) today released the following statement on the opening of the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem.

“I am very pleased that the United States has moved its embassy from Tel-Aviv to Jerusalem.”

“This move has been a bipartisan wish of Congress for a long time.”

“I can think of no other sovereign country that has had to put up with the indignant treatment of not being allowed to place an embassy in their capital city.”

“Jerusalem was the capital of Israel 2,500 year ago. It is long overdue to recognize it as the capital today and I thank President Trump for keeping his campaign promise to do so.”
