MADISON – Loren Oldenburg of Viroqua has been endorsed by the Volunteers for Agriculture (VFA) Committee for the 96th Assembly District. VFA is the political action arm of the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation.
“Loren Oldenburg is a fourth-generation farmer who is keenly aware of the challenges facing the agricultural community,” WFBF’s Senior Director of Governmental Relations Rob Richard said. “As past president of Westby Co-op Creamery, president of Chaseburg Cenex Co-op and a former chairman in the Town of Harmony, Loren will bring a depth and breadth of agricultural and civic-minded expertise that is much needed in Madison.”
The 96th Assembly District includes Crawford county and portions of Monroe and Vernon counties. Oldenburg is a Republican seeking an open seat.
“Loren’s unwavering support for the use value assessment law along with his desire to create and expand entrepreneurial opportunity, especially for the ag sector, and his overall experience as a community leader convinced our local, farmer-led interview committee that he deserves the endorsement for the 96th Assembly District,” said Richard.
The Volunteers for Agriculture Committee is comprised of 18 farmers from across the state and was formed to give farmers a more direct role in electing leaders who best represent agriculture’s interests.
Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation is the state’s largest general farm organization with members of every farm size, commodity and management style.
