MADISON – Tony Kurtz of Wonewoc has been endorsed by the Volunteers for Agriculture (VFA) Committee for the 50th Assembly District. VFA is the political action arm of the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation.
“As a farmer himself, Tony Kurtz understands the incredible challenges the agricultural community is facing,” WFBF’s Senior Director of Governmental Relations Rob Richard said. “Madison is in dire need of people like Tony who will bring an agricultural perspective to a legislative body that continues to be generations removed from the farm.”
Richard added, “Tony served more than 20 years as a helicopter pilot and crash scene investigator in the U.S. Army. Our local farmer committee that interviewed Tony appreciated his devotion to helping retiring veterans pursue careers in agriculture.”
The 50th Assembly District includes Juneau county and portions of Monroe, Richland, Sauk and Vernon counties. Kurtz is a Republican seeking an open seat.
“Tony Kurtz will bring common sense solutions to some very politically complex issues,” said Richard. “Farmers and residents in the 50th Assembly District will be very well served by electing Tony.”
The Volunteers for Agriculture Committee is comprised of 18 farmers from across the state and was formed to give farmers a more direct role in electing leaders who best represent agriculture’s interests.
Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation is the state’s largest general farm organization with members of every farm size, commodity and management style.
