Brookfield, Wis. — State Sen. Leah Vukmir released the following statement Thursday after news broke that Wisconsin’s unemployment rate reached 2.9 percent in February — an all-time low:
“Under Gov. Doyle and the Democrats, Wisconsin was $3.6 billlion in debt, and job creators and workers alike were fleeing our state because of mismanagement. As a result of reforms I’ve passed with Gov. Walker, a balanced budget, $8 billion in tax cuts and the elimination of job-killing regulations, Wisconsin is undeniably the greatest state in the nation to live, work and raise a family. Together, we have mastered a plan for economic success that will work in Washington.
“Wisconsin needs a proven conservative who has helped usher in record-low unemployment representing us in the U.S. Senate, and I’m ready for the task.”
Leah Vukmir is a nurse, military mom and conservative with a proven record of reform who is running to bring the Wisconsin Way to Washington. She currently serves as a state senator from Brookfield.
