Brookfield, Wis. — With President Donald J. Trump set to campaign for Leah Vukmir on Wednesday in the Wausau area, it’s worth remembering that Tomah Tammy Baldwin lead the effort to impeach President George W. Bush and could possibly do the same with President Trump.

“Senator Baldwin was literally on the front lines attempting to impeach President George W. Bush. Past behavior is a good predictor of future behavior, and we can only assume Baldwin also wants to impeach President Trump, too,” said Leah Vukmir campaign manager Jess Ward. “While Leah will proudly stand with President Trump in Wausau this week, voters deserve to know where Baldwin stands on impeachment proceedings for President Trump and Brett Kavanaugh. The press needs to do its job and ask her this important question.”

BACKGROUND…

California Democrat Congresswoman Maxine Waters goes on Trump ‘impeachment’ tear, vows to ‘get him.’ “Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters escalated her rhetorical assault on President Trump over the weekend – vowing to ‘get him’ and repeating the word ‘impeachment’ over and over. Waters, who took heat earlier this year for urging her supporters to confront Trump administration officials in public, told a group gathered in Los Angeles that some Democratic leaders have asked her to stop talking about impeaching Trump. ‘There’s a difference in how some of our leadership talk about how we should handle all of this,’ Water said. ‘They say, ‘Maxine, please don’t say impeachment anymore.’ ‘And when they say that, I say ‘impeachment, impeachment, impeachment, impeachment, impeachment, impeachment, impeachment.’” (Fox News, 9/10/18)

Tomah Tammy Baldwin was one of the “steadiest supporters of impeachment initiatives in the House.” “Baldwin has been one of the steadiest supporters of impeachment initiatives in the House, signing on to a series of calls for inquiries and votes that have challenged the wrongdoing of the president, the vice president and their appointees. The Madison Democrat was, for instance, one of the first members of the Judiciary Committee to endorse House Resolution 333, Kucinich’s proposal to impeach Dick Cheney. And she was a key backer of Washington Democrat Jay Inslee’s move to open impeachment hearings for Attorney General Alberto R. Gonzales, which helped force Gonzales’ resignation.” (John Nichols, Opinion, “Baldwin Should Answer The Call Of Conscience,” The Capital Times, 6/25/08)
