Brookfield, Wis. –  While ultra-liberal Sen. Tammy Baldwin recently campaigned with socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders, complaining about the influence of out-of-state special interests, reports show she has accepted $157,721 in contributions from an anti-Israel PAC supporting Iran.

In her last campaign, Baldwin accepted nearly $60,000 from the Council for a Livable World, which believes Iran poses no threat to the United States.

“Two-Faced Tammy lies to Wisconsinites about her independence from special interests, while she’s obviously bought and paid for by groups that oppose Israel and support Iran, the No. 1 state sponsor of terrorism,”said Leah Vukmir campaign manager Jess Ward. “Unlike Baldwin, Leah Vukmir is proud of her truly homegrown support from grassroots Wisconsinites and will stand with President Trump to always put America first before Iran.”

As the Washington Free Beacon reports:

“Democratic senator Tammy Baldwin (Wisc.), who has pushed to limit the influence of special interests during her first term in the Senate, has raked in more than $200,000 in bundled contributions this cycle from lobbyists at two far-left organizations, filings show.  Individuals at the J Street PAC, a controversial Washington, D.C.-based Middle East advocacy group that was one of the most ardent supporters of President Obama’s Iran nuclear deal, and the League of Conservation Voters, an environmental group also based in D.C., supplied the money to Baldwin’s campaign. Prior to the campaign’s most recent filings, lobbyists at J Street bundled together $120,098.83 in donations for Baldwin. During the second quarter, which spans from April 1 to June 30, Baldwin’s campaign took in an additional $37,623.66 from lobbyists at the group, according to the campaign’s most recent filings to the Federal Election Commission. J Street is often referred to as an “anti-Israel group” by supporters of the Jewish state. The organization poured millions into a public relations campaign blitz backing Obama’s Iran nuclear deal, which was called a “historic mistake” by the Israeli government …” (The Washington Free Beacon, 07/24/18)

BACKGROUND …
Baldwin gets nearly $60,000 from group against Iranian sanctions. “U.S. Rep. Tammy Baldwin – who was against Iranian sanctions before she was for them – has received nearly $60,000 for her Senate bid from a group that says the American policy of imposing sanctions and trying to “publicly threaten and insult Iran” does little more than strengthen the country’s hard-liners. The Council for a Livable World, which opposes nuclear weapons, argues that Iran poses no current threat to the United States.” (Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, 10/17/12)
