Madison, Wis. — U.S. Senate candidate and state Sen. Leah Vukmir, R–Brookfield released the following statement after Gov. Scott Walker’s State of the State address Wednesday afternoon:
“Wisconsin is working. Republicans have completely eliminated the state property tax, and we are at 3.0 percent unemployment — the lowest the state has seen. These are real results that positively impact our constituents’ day-to-day lives.
“But our work isn’t done. We are ready to roll up our sleeves and enact polices that empower people to achieve for themselves, instead of depending on government.
“Unfortunately, as we saw last weekend, Senate Democrats and Sen. Baldwin are ready to play politics at any second and put illegal immigrants’ interests ahead of our American military members and sick children. It’s irresponsible, and it’s not how we do things in Wisconsin.”
“Wisconsinites deserve a senator who has proven she will work for them, fight for conservative policies that work and get results. I am proud of what Wisconsin has accomplished, and I am eager to take my strong record to Washington.”
Leah Vukmir is a nurse, military mom and conservative with a proven record of reform who is running to bring the Wisconsin Way to Washington. She currently serves as a state senator from Brookfield.
