GOP U.S. Senate candidate Leah Vukmir’s latest TV ad charges Sen. Tammy Baldwin’s inactions on the overprescription of opioids at the Tomah VA “cost our veterans.”

The spot opens with the narrator saying the Tomah VA was called “candyland” with opioids prescribed at “alarming rates.” The narrator adds a government report “exposed the abuses to Tammy Baldwin” and a whistleblower “called for help. Days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months.”

“Tammy Baldwin knew lives were at risk, but she did nothing and hired Hillary Clinton’s lawyer to help cover it up,” the narrator says as the ad shows a picture of Baldwin and Clinton, hands clasped and aloft.

The narrator concludes the spot, “Tammy Baldwin’s inactions cost our veterans. That’s just shameful.”

Vukmir’s campaign said the ad began running Wednesday, but didn’t provide details.
