EAU CLAIRE – Dana Wachs announced today that Brita Olsen will succeed Jake Hajdu as the Wachs for Wisconsin campaign manager. Olsen previously served as the deputy campaign manager. Hajdu’s decision to resign came following the adoption of his family’s first child.
“My wife and I were thrilled to welcome our son, Clark Alan, into our home this month. Like so many families, we experienced many ups and downs in our quest to start a family. Clark’s arrival in our lives meant shifting my priorities to dedicate as much time as possible to him.
“I am still 100 percent committed to Dana and believe that he will be the next governor of Wisconsin. I’ve worked with Brita Olsen for years and that know her measured, strategic leadership will serve Dana’s campaign well. Dana will win not only the primary in August, but will also defeat Scott Walker in November,” said Hajdu.
“I couldn’t be happier for Jake and his family. This is such an important time in their lives, and I support Jake’s decision to put his family first.
“I’m also thrilled to announce Brita as my campaign manager. During Jake’s paternity leave, she demonstrated her strong leadership and sound political judgment. Together, I know we defeat Scott Walker and fight for Wisconsin’s future,” said Wachs.
“Jake has been a true friend and excellent manager for the campaign over the last few months. His work helped us enter 2018 with incredibly strong fundraising numbers and an unbeatable team. We’re going to spend the next 200 days until the primary meeting with folks across Wisconsin and ensuring Wisconsinites know that Dana Wachs is the experienced advocate we need to build a better future for everyone,” said Olsen.
Before joining the Wachs campaign in August 2017, Olsen was the Political Director for Hillary for Wisconsin, Political Director at Democratic Party of Wisconsin, Legislative Aide for State Rep. Cory Mason, Regional Director for the Assembly Democratic Campaign Committee, Regional GOTV Director for We Are Wisconsin, Field Director for Kathleen Falk for Wisconsin, and Field Director at Advancing Wisconsin. Originally from Manitowoc, Olsen is a graduate of UW-Madison.
