MILWAUKEE – Rep. Dana Wachs, a Democrat challenging Gov. Scott Walker in November, responded to a U.S. Supreme Court decision on Gill v. Whitford today. The case was a challenge to Wisconsin’s partisan gerrymandering that has fractured Wisconsin legislative districts to unfairly advantage Republicans:

“Your rights as a voter are on hold. That’s what the Supreme Court told us today. But we can fix this in November.

“Electing a Democrat as governor is the single-most important thing we must do this fall. As governor, I will make sure Wisconsin has a non-partisan, independent redistricting process. Voters should pick their representatives, not the other way around.

“Now is the time to volunteer, organize, and work together to defeat Scott Walker and the Republicans. We need to take back the governor’s office and the Wisconsin Legislature.”
