Governor Walker and Wisconsin Republicans Demonstrate Strong Finance Period with Nearly $7 Million Cash on Hand
Wisconsin Republicans to report nearly $2 million more cash on hand than same point four years ago

[Madison, Wis.] – Governor Scott Walker and Wisconsin Republicans announced today that they have nearly $7 million cash on hand at the conclusion of the recent December 31 finance reporting period. The amount is nearly $2 million more than what Wisconsin Republicans had on hand at this point four years ago.

“Our record of reform is resonating in every part of Wisconsin, and we’re ready to keep moving the state forward. We’re building the resilient grassroots campaign that we know will propel Wisconsin Republicans to victory in November,” said Governor Walker. “I am thankful for the continued support from across the entire state.”

The fundraising total continues to reflect the energized support for the governor’s campaign. The nearly $7 million includes:

· More than $4.2 million cash on hand for Friends of Scott Walker, with nearly 85 percent of donations totaling $100 or less, signaling strong continued grassroots support for the governor’s campaign for more bold reform.

· More than $1.4 million cash on hand for People for Rebecca, which continues to position Lieutenant Governor Kleefisch with more cash on hand than any lieutenant governor in Wisconsin’s history.

· Nearly $1.2 million cash on hand for the Republican Party of Wisconsin’s state account – exceeding $1 million more than the amount the state party had on hand four years ago. Since 2011, the Republican Party of Wisconsin has maintained a robust year-round campaign presence with offices and field staff deployed across the state.

News reports have indicated that outside special interests are again attacking Governor Walker and his record of reform. Just recently, the ACLU announced plans to join groups like the SEIU and AFL-CIO to spend millions of dollars to target conservatives like Governor Walker.
