Motorcycle ride highlights local businesses and families

[Madison, Wis.] – Earlier this month, Scott Walker joined with Veterans, supporters, and friends on his annual motorcycle ride as they traveled the state to meet with hard-working families and tour local businesses.

After starting in Appleton and traveling through Wausau and Eau Claire, the riders visited David Reay’s Modern Diner and Tavern – a new restaurant in Onalaska providing jobs to the community. Other stops included Tractor Central in Mondovi and Fabick Cat in Schofield where the group toured the facilities and visited with locals. Gov. Walker’s bold reforms have sparked Wisconsin’s comeback and helped job creators like these succeed and grow – now, the governor is sharing his plan for the next four years to help Wisconsin win the 21st century.

Every summer, Gov. Scott Walker takes a ride through Wisconsin on his Harley Davidson, bringing a few dozen with him.

The two-day trip this summer included a lunch-time stop in Onalaska at David Reay’s Modern Diner + Tavern on Sunday.

Walker pointed out that this year marks the 115th anniversary of Harley Davidson. And, even though the company has decided to move more production out of the U.S., he said he wants to see Harley continue to be strong in Wisconsin…

“The only challenge you get is a lot of those curves,” Walker said, “I find the closer I get to the river, the more my head is drawn that way and I gotta remind myself, ‘Look back, look back.’ …

After going through La Crosse County, Walker and his group also got to Prairie du Chien and Mineral Point.
