VIDEO: Walker campaign launches statewide TV ad showing Tony Evers can’t be trusted to seep Wisconsin families safe
After failing to protect our children from porn-watching teacher, Evers supports plan that would mean thousands of violent criminals back in our communities
[Madison, Wis.] – The Walker campaign on Wednesday launched its next TV ad showing Tony Evers can’t be trusted to keep Wisconsin children and families safe. After siding with unions and failing to revoke the teaching license of a porn-watching teacher who commented on the bodies of middle school girls, Evers supports a plan to cut the prison population in half – a plan experts agree would mean violent criminals back in our communities.
When asked about the plan at a Democrat gubernatorial primary debate, Evers called the plan to cut the prison population in half “a goal that is worth accomplishing.”
If Evers were to cut the prison population in half today, thousands of violent criminalswould be back on the street. Evers’ dangerous plan would put everyone at risk.

Now Evers wants to cut Wisconsin’s prison population in half. A dangerous plan that today would mean releasing thousands of violent criminals back into our communities – which could include felons who’ve committed rape, assault robbery, and even kidnapping.

Tony Evers’ record of failing to protect children in our schools has been extensively reported in the news media. The Walker campaign last week launched an ad highlighting the details of a teacher who remains in the classroom after spreading pornography and commenting on the bodies of middle school girls. The Republican Party of Wisconsin has also launched ads highlighting that case as well as two other cases – one of a teacher soliciting sex from a student, and another of a teacher caught in the classroom with his pants down.
Evers has also faced scrutiny over his goal of cutting the state prison population in half, which today would mean releasing violent criminals into our communities. After first calling the plan to cut the prison population in half “a goal that is worth accomplishing,” Evers has tried to run from the statement ever since, creating distractions but failing to renounce the plan to cut the prison population in half.
The spot will run on television as well as on a range of online and social media platforms. It is the second ad the Walker campaign is running to spotlight how Evers can’t be trusted to keep Wisconsin families safe.
