[Madison, Wis.] – The National Federation of Independent Business proudly endorsed Scott Walker today in his campaign for Wisconsin governor, citing his record of real leadership keeping the tax burden low and reducing burdensome regulation on small businesses to help them create jobs for hard-working families in communities across the state. The endorsement occurred as part of a statewide tour that will include Green Bay, Weston, and Eau Claire.

Before Scott Walker took office, unemployment peaked at 9.3 percent, taxes were skyrocketing, and jobs were fleeing the state. Now, under Scott Walker’s bold leadership, unemployment has been at or below 3 percent for eight straight months, property taxes are lower than they were in 2010, and he has a bold agenda to keep Wisconsin working for generations to come.

Statement from Bill G. Smith, NFIB’s State Director in Wisconsin:

“Governor Scott Walker has a solid record of leadership that demonstrates time and time again that he cares about small business, and that he understands how important their success is to the state’s economy. Thanks to his bold reforms, Wisconsin is a great place to start and grow a business. We look forward to continuing to partner with Governor Walker on an agenda to keep Wisconsin moving forward.”

Statement from Scott Walker:

“Our campaign is proud to have the support of the National Federation of Independent Business, which represents small businesses across Wisconsin. Small businesses know the importance of responsible budgeting and common-sense reforms that lead to lower taxes, a better business climate, and more money in the pockets of hard-working families. We look forward to continuing to work with local small business owners to keep Wisconsin working for generations to come.”
