Gov. Scott Walker, U.S. Senate candidate Leah Vukmir and AG Brad Schimel are hosting their events at the Ingleside Hotel in Pewaukee.
Walker and Vukmir’s party is in a large ballroom with two projection screens. On the west side of the room bleachers are set up, flanked by a large American flag on the left and a Wisconsin flag on the right.
Schimel’s party is in an adjacent, smaller room with one large screen. A relatively sparse crowd was there shortly past 8 p.m., and Schimel’s band, 4 on the Floor, was preparing to play. The bulk of the crowd was in Walker’s room, where the attendees are chatting, sipping drinks and watching returns.
As early returns came in, Walker’s room was silent when the returns showed U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin leading, but people cheered when the results showed Walker leading Tony Evers by three points.
Guests have to pass through security screening to enter the Walker-Vukmir event, and must be screened again when moving from the Schimel event to Walker’s.
